This place has great, good and well portioned food for the buck. I did enjoy the meal but the drink i ordered, which was a milk tea, didn’t agree with what i was eating in my stomach..i think a soda might have been more settling to the digest. But overall the food is usually good and and service is always great. There’s nice people working there.
Panera Bread Bowl Soup
At Panera Bread the bread is freshly baked and the place has a great cafe feel. Oh, and they have wifi. ;] My favorite thing to get is the soup which even though I try I never manage to eat the whole bread bowl. For $5.99 you get the bread bowl or normal bowl with soup of your choice and a choice of chips or a baguette on the side. Their sandwiches are pretty good and they have a few great salads. Anyway check it out if you haven’t!
Valrhona Chocolate Gelato at Whole Foods
Gelato has that edge on ice cream. Whether it be the creaminess, the temperature, the way it’s made, or simply that you have to eat it with a tiny spoon to make up for how much more expensive it is. Whatever the case, Whole Foods Market has a selection of gelato that you just can’t pass up.
Tamago, “Egg,” Burger at Fukuburger
Food trucks can bring new and exciting foods all around the city. Fukuburger is one such truck bringing a mix of Asian flavors with the classic American burger. At $5/burger, it’s a deal, and one of the tastiest burgers you can have.
Quick Homemade Tiramisu (by Jenny)
This is a super quick RECIPE for a non-alcoholic Tiramisu dessert for less than $10! So, for any of you in AA, this is ideal. Rather than having to use fresh, spongy ladyfingers, this one uses ladyfinger cookies that I got at a neighborhood Italian restaurant – though they are crisp, they’re STILL light and not too sweet!
Start with packaged ladyfingers…$1.75 for a package of 16. Use 2 for each dessert. Cut in half and place criss-crossed into a ramekin or small dish.
Make one espresso. You can also use instant coffee but make it strong. I made mine with my Tassimo machine. If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can buy one espresso at Starbucks…$2.40.
Sweeten the coffee with sugar or Splenda…(free if you’re sneaky)
Slightly sweeten (1/2 tsp) mascarpone cheese with Splenda & mix it. If you can’t get mascarpone, you can opt for similar cream cheeses like ricotta. NOTE - it spreads MUCH better if you let it reach near-room-temperature first. Mascarpone…$3.25 at Fresh & Easy or Trader Joe’s. You can also flavor it a bit with a few drops of vanilla extract.
Put 1 1/2 tablespoon of espresso on the ladyfingers – they should be moistened but not drenched.
Dollop 1 to 2 tablespoons of the cheese on top of the ladyfingers depending on your taste. Spread it evenly over the cookies with a little pressure to push it in.
Sprinkle cocoa powder on top (about 1/2 teaspoon – here I used a tea strainer to do it evenly). A can of Hershey’s baking cocoa…$2.00.
Chill for at least 15 minutes covered.
Shave or break small chocolate pieces for the top (small bar of Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate 50¢) and enjoy…6 servings for just $9.90!!!

$10 or less at Ohana Hawaiian BBQ (Steph)
So here I got the Chicken Katsu, for $5.95 with sauce, a side of rice and macaroni salad. All the prices are good as well as you get a lot of food for the price. Good deal! Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t. =]
Not only do I like the food at Ohana, it is also near the school on Green Valley Pkwy in the corner by Starbucks and Jamba Juice. The environment and service is friendly with a giant tv to watch sports! P.S. you can call and have food delivered or have it ready for pick up.
And here’s a video of what I got!
Eating for $10 or LESS at Starbucks (by Jenny)
Starbucks has got to be one of my favorite coffee houses…if not, my favorite! I like the atmosphere and the fact I can have dessert or lunch anytime I visit.
For some people, Starbucks may not stand out as a place to eat for $10 or less, but if you just want a snack….it’ll work just fine in MY OPINION.
Check out my video so you can see what I got for $10 or less at Starbucks Coffee.
Eating for $10 or LESS at Rubio’s (by Jenny)
I don’t normally eat fast food, but I was totally starving and in a hurry! Isn’t that the purpose of fast food? For people who are in a hurry?
Well, it’s NOT something I will be making a HABIT of because I like sticking to a healthier diet, but this fish taco at Rubio’s was indeed a good deal.
Especially for those who don’t mind fast food. I will let the video tell you all about how great this deal was for just $2.80! Oh and for those wondering, YES, the taco was pretty darn good!
Keep in mind, this blog is about how YOU can eat for just $10 or less. Now go ahead & watch my video!
